Network Administrator

Principle Responsibilities:

With the goals of meeting high availability, stability and performance requirements as well as predicted/managed expansion, your responsibilities will include:

• Parameter tuning.
• Availability and fault management.
• Troubleshooting.
• Firmware and network hardware installation and upgrades.
• Performance, capacity and address management.
• Network design, tuning, troubleshooting, management, Documenting
• Cable structure design, management
• Basic understanding of Telecommunications
• Remote access and VPN
• Knowledge of voice over IP

• Three year Community College or University Computer Science diploma/certificate (additional computing education or courses would be a definite asset). A minimum of three years of experience in a computing centre environment.
• Excellent knowledge of networking infrastructure and technologies (routers, bridges, etc; firewalls; cabling, remote access services, ISDN), MS-Windows NT server, HP OpenView or other network administration tools.
• Strong customer-service orientation.
• Additional consideration will be given to candidates with Cisco, Nortel, 3Com or wiring and cabling Certifications.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, together with a collaborative (team work) approach to solutions developments
