Senior Mainframe Programmer

Responsibilities:

• Full life cycle development – project planning, analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, support and maintenance of Capsil/Ingenium application systems.
• Liaise with Business Analysts and/or Business Units to analyze business requirements
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to project team members
• Task estimation and scope determination
• Input into functional design and analysis
• Implementation/programming of specifications or change requests.

Qualifications:

• 4 – 7 years in the development of Capsil/Ingenium systems
• IBM mainframe, CICS, Cobol, DB2
• Solid understanding of life insurance application systems
• Proven analytical and programming skills
• Solid communication/organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Independent problem solving skills
• Loma courses/certificates a definite asset
• Experience with PC-based development an asset
