Toronto – Senior Account Executive

POSITION SUMMARY

This challenging, exciting, high-level position is designed for an experienced and aggressive go-getter; a highly organized, gifted communicator with the rare combination of technical prowess, superior interpersonal skills, an ‘eyes on the prize’ focus on the bottom line and the rock-solid ability to close a deal. The individual selected to join the dynamic Zycom senior account team will be able to seamlessly and comprehensively manage their specific territory or vertical market, thanks to their exceptional dedication to serving the needs of existing customers, coupled with a relentless drive to add to the client base. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an impressive breadth and depth of knowledge of the Greater Toronto Area business environment, and will have cultivated an extensive cadre of contacts, leads and prospects throughout the relevant sectors. Greater penetration and an expanding profile within the GTA is the overarching mandate of this position.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize impactful face-to-face contacts with all current clients on a regular and consistent basis to develop a solid working relationship, as a way to continually understand their changing needs and requirements as well as offer them direct, timely information about Zycom’s managed services, Cloud and specific products and services, including facilitating product demonstrations.
  • Research and cultivate potential new clients through all available resources and maintain accurate and up-to-date communication logs throughout the entirety of the ‘pitch’ process. This includes organizing in-person presentations to relevant decision makers within these organizations to effectively explain Zycom’s managed services, Cloud and products/service, tailored to meet the unique needs of each potential client.
  • Have the ability to sell disruptive Datacenter transformation technology, Cloud and managed services to a broad range of private and public sector clients.
  • Maintain a thorough, comprehensive and up-to-the-minute knowledge of the company’s managed services, Cloud and products/services. As well, the successful candidate will be expected to fully understand all corporate sales objectives and strategies, pricing, delivery and installation policies and practices to be able to respond to customer requests for information in a timely and helpful manner.
  • Develop and maintain detailed records on all calls, sales and compile the appropriate sales and progress reports as required.
  • Take an active part in developing strategies, forecasts and establishing sales targets that are ambitious and challenging for both the account executive’s own territory/vertical market, but for the entirety of the company.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with partners, distributors, manufacturers, sub-contractors, Zycom colleagues (inside sales, management, technical resources), and the help desk team to provide the full range of end-to-end IT solutions for all clients.
  • Manage multiple ‘routes to market’ to ensure sales targets are met or even exceeded and that proper sales activities are aligned to support the business targets and specific opportunities of Zycom.
  • Have a focus on professional development and improvement through continuing education programs, including acquiring relevant sales and technical certifications in order to be as effective and efficient in the role as is possible.
  • Build and retain solid professional relationships with manufacturers, marketing firms and sub-contracting partners to help leverage solutions as a way to develop new accounts and strengthen existing accounts.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have valid Ontario Driver’s License and clean driving abstract.
  • Minimum of two years post-secondary education from an accredited college or university in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years proven sales experience in a progressively complex and diverse IT sales environment. A commitment to continuous learning is essential to maintain the ability to effectively assist customers with buying decisions and ongoing service.

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess superior direct sales and marketing skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong time management skills, have a ‘customer first’ approach to their job, and a demonstrated facility to work independently, but also as part of a broader team with common goals. Candidates must be high achievers, keen learners, committed to excellence, be goal-oriented and prove they can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Good humour, patience and an open mind are also essential.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The successful candidate will essentially work from home, spending much of their work day visiting new and existing clients or in sales meetings back at the home office. The work plan, sales targets and overall business development plan will be developed in conjunction with the General Manager or President, who will also be to whom the senior account executive will report.

REMUNERATION:

A competitive base salary with an excellent, incentive-laden commission structure.
